A Job for Engineering - Savage Chickens
For all my crafty Star Trek-loving friends
I used to run a costume shop, which is like a sweat shop for the love of theatre. Anyway, I wish I had said this to the seamstresses (seamsters?).
lmfao that is a great way to describe a costume shop. We always talked about making up work songs but never did.
Corset, mid 1880s
Wow! I’d love to know what museum this is housed in. It looks almost exactly how I’m going to make my new corset!
I’ve been thinking about making a corset for myself. I have this cracked theory it would make my back feel better. I’ve never made a corset before or sewn much at all, recently. I’m not sure my skills are up to that kind of precision.

oooh, the teal dress on the far right. something calls me to make you. Possibly with the military inspired stuff going on in the dress 3rd from the left.
Hugues Merle (French, 1823-1881) Romeo & Juliet (1879) Oil on canvas. 67 X 51 in. Anthony’s Fine Art, Salt Lake City, UT, USA.
I don’t even wear yellow (gold?) but I would rock this dress.

It’s someone’s recreation of the Lake Gown from Star Wars: Attack of the Clones! I think it looks beautiful.
Definitely one of the best recreations of the lake gown I’ve seen. I hate on the prequels as much as the next nerd but the costumes, man. Flawless, gorgeous costumes.
